Homepage rearranged

Postby Austin [OP] » Oct 22 2010, 6:21pm

You might have noticed that I got a wild hair and rearranged the home page. My reason for doing so is that I felt it was a very top-heavy page with all the recent, pertinent, day-to-day information at the top. The traffic trends of our site suggest that that area of the site gets the most clicks while the rest of the page further down gets very little. It is my hope that users will dive deeper into the individual forums and search for reading material so I've done my best to integrate the "recent {blogs, topics, images, etc.}" into the various categories to expand the focus beyond the top of the page.

I suppose this poll will gauge if the members actually like it better this way, or not.

I like it, Austin. I especially like that the images and comments are further down. I use them, but not as often as other stuff.

There's a LOT of stuff to sort through on the home page - how about a quick navigation pane?

On the GMC Acadia forum I am a part of, there is a link that takes me to all new, unread posts. There is also one to search for replies to my posts. I like to navigate through those items first, reply if needed, and then surf deeper into the site. It would be nice to get to those quickly.
In general, though, I like the changes you've made.
