I found a super-cheap cab guard on Craigslist, so I snapped it up- it only cost me $100. It's pretty, uh, broken in, shall we say- a little bit of rust here and there, a dent here and there, and it's been drilled into and welded a few times. Plus, there's a sloppy paint job on it, but I don't really care too much.
It came with two steel rails welded onto the support pieces, so I cut those off right away- they're ugly, and not really functional. Plus, they'd get in the way when I put a bed cover on. Hopefully, I can turn them into a nice support for one ladder- the cab guard sticks up over the roof about an inch, so ladders won't scrape the roof.
The install was a bit of a pain, and I'm still not totally satisfied with the way it's mounted, but it's good enough. I might mess around with it more, when I get a bed cover. It looks totally awesome, and makes the truck look all that much more "professional grade". The first thing my mom said when she saw it was, "Ooooh, it makes it look like a man truck!". Plus, now I can stick a light bar on there when I get a plow. Here's some pics:
