ZL1 rings the 'Ring

Permanent Linkby starspangled6.0 on Oct 07 2011, 1:38am

Mwuhahahahahaha! I can't wait to watch this baby eat up the competition (that means you, F***!)! I'd like to see a certain live-axle pony car go this fast around the 'Ring...

I have the 'ring on one of my PS3 racing games. After watching this video, I have an appreciation for the quality graphics and accurate representation of this track in the PS3 game.
As far as the car....very cool. I would believe that the driver was very familiar with the ring, but not so much with the car. You see him bumping off the rev limiter, getting very deep into the brakes on occasion, and having to over correct on occasion. It does make you appreciate the braking capability of the Camaro. On one corner he hauled that thing from 170 to 100-ish MPH in about the time it took to drop one gear. Also, the corning ability (must be on racing tires, and was pulling 1g or greater) is awesome. Some of the off camber, downhill turns in the second 1/3 of the course really show of the balance of this car.
Like I said earlier, this driver knew the course. His (or her) apexes and driving line into and out of corners was very spot on. The ring is an almost impossible course to drive well. The sheer number of corners makes it a hard course to learn. And, the attention span required to focus for that length of time is daunting. In my racing time, the toughest course I drove was Laguna Seca. 2.2 miles and 11 turns (all of which I can see clearly if I close my eyes). The ring is 12.7 miles and 73 turns!!! Incredible course!

Well, it's got that trick magnetorheological suspension from the CTS-V and the ZR1, plus the blown 6.2L, making 580 HP. I thought it would be a lot more tail happy, like the ZR1, but it seems to be nice cross between the ZR1 and the CTS-V. Hmmm... should I get an orange one, or black :D?

Black...as stealth as possible. Let the power speak for itself.

I imagine that blown 6.2 can be quite noisy... my favorite exhaust note, from all the vehicles I've ever heard, is from the ZR1.
