Installed my HID headlights today!

Permanent Linkby Austin on Jan 01 2011, 2:56am

Today I installed my HID low-beam headlights! My wife got me them for Christmas and I just now got around to installing them. I'm very impressed with them so far. Very bright 6000k bulbs are bright white and light up the road way better than the old halogen bulbs. We took advantage of the $30 black Friday deal that HIDExtra was having and it turns out that the product is pretty good so long as they don't burn out anytime soon.

More photos in my gallery under the subforum called HID Headlights - Low Beam HIDs

Ordered Cooper Discoverer STT Tires Yesterday!

Permanent Linkby Austin on Nov 16 2010, 5:22pm

With the cold winter weather coming I finally got the go-ahead from the boss lady to replace my old tired and worn BFG TA/KO's. With the combination of 4-wheel drive and some 285/75R16 Cooper Discoverer STT tires on the way from Tacoma WA I don't think winter roads will be a problem this year.

The best price I could find was $242 per tire at Sears. I called around to every place in town and was surprised that Sears had the best price. So all said and done I paid $1,197.99 out the door which includes all their tire disposal fees, mounting fees, road hazard coverage, taxes, etc.

I'm excited. They are supposed to come in within the next day or two. You better believe I'll be taking some photos and showing them off when I get them on. 8-)

Paid the truck off. Got the title in the mail yesterday!

Permanent Linkby Austin on Oct 11 2010, 2:26am

Yesterday was a joyful day for my wife and I. In the mail was the crisp, sweet smelling Certificate Of Title to my 2003 Sierra. I purchased my truck in March of 2008 and about two and a half years later, we paid it off. Bought it with 48,700 miles on it and as of today is has 58,700 miles on it. What a coincidence huh? Already I feel like I love my truck just a little bit more now. There is just something about driving a paid off vehicle that makes me a little more proud of it.

Anyways, I just thought I'd share a happy moment with you all.

My LED Daytime Running Lights arrived today

Permanent Linkby Austin on Sep 10 2010, 12:00am

Since my truck seems to be haunted by the dreaded "winking" daytime running lights, I am trying something different this time: Super White LED bulbs!

I purchased a set of Super White LW-302 (Sylvania 3157/4157 replacement) High Intensity Super LED Halo Daytime Running Lights from Halo Automotive.

Check out more photos in my Photo Gallery.

I paid $12.97 each with free shipping from Amazon.
So far so good. I like them!
