10K miles clocked today!

Permanent Linkby EX-F150 owner on Sep 03 2012, 2:42am

On our way back from the Outer Banks, NC I finally reached 10K miles. Started the trip home with 9966 showing on the odo. Got two pictures on the trip. One showing all 9's and then one of it hitting 5 didgets on the odometer.

The last time it will ever show 4 didgets!

And the big 10K! on a truck that's almost 3 model years old  but it's really only a year and a half young

This was our first trip since we purchased the truck, and the first real test on how much fuel it burns on the hwy. It was showing around 17.5 MPG speed range was not constant and ranged anywhere between 60-75mph and 80 a few times. We did not hit any traffic.

I have started a new job that is close to home and have been driving the truck everyday. Nothing like working less than 9 miles from home! I will be parking it again soon but am having fun for now :D

OEM Trailer receiver plug - another quick & simple MOD

Permanent Linkby EX-F150 owner on Aug 14 2012, 12:58am

Just added a rubber GM receiver plug to cover the hole when I do not have my hitch in it. When I do need to install the hitch, I do not have to worry about storing the plug, it is held by a strap that goes around the end of the receiver.

Here are a couple pics

Here it is with the hitch installed too

BLACK! color matched grill installed!

Permanent Linkby EX-F150 owner on Nov 29 2011, 10:32pm

I ordered the OEM color matched grill (color code 58U Carbon Black Metallic) and replaced the Chrome package grill that my truck came with. Here are some pictures :D

Finished product!

I know this is just the standard stock grill that comes with the Z71 package and what I had on there was the Chrome package grill but, I perfer this grill over the chrome grill. Just looks better to me :) I have no intentions on adding a bunch of aftermarket stuff on my truck but when I see something that is stock or looks stock and looks good I will most likely be adding it! :D

If you check the second post on this thread you can see a how to video I found on youtube to change the grill
Going to switch out my grill assemble. Has anyone done this?

Wood Console upgrade from a Tahoe/Suburban/Avalanche LTZ

Permanent Linkby EX-F150 owner on Mar 11 2011, 1:34am

Part number used is GM part # 20919906 -for the 2010 2011 model year, there are many different part numbers for this wood console insert, I assume for year and wood color. So if you plan to do this mod you should confirm the correct part for your truck before ordering
NOTE Requirement is to have RPO code D07 and you can not have code Y91. There should be a tag in the glove box with the list of RPO codes for your truck. GM list price is $202.46, wholesale price is 126.94.

This was about as easy as it gets for doing any MOD. Took about 2 minutes from start to finish and the only tool I used was my Autozone card lol credit card works too.

Here is what I had and started from
1892

Take a thin firm piece of plastic and wedge it between the console and the housing around it and start to pry it up around the area where the cup holder is. There are 4 retainer clips that you need to release.

This picture shows the clips

Here is the new console

and the back side

Here it is installed.
