New top speed!

Permanent Linkby carsonhowe22 on Aug 17 2012, 4:32am

So I recently got my new DiabloSport InTune from Lew and filled up with 93 octane to run the Diablo tune. Haven't bought the custom tune yet but I plan to in the future as soon as the funds come into play. Got my friend to record the whole thing from start to finish. Video is on his phone, hasn't been uploaded to YouTube yet, but it will be probably tomorrow. Took a screenshot of the video where I stopped speeding up. Probably could have gone a little faster, was still accelerating slowly, but I didn't want to take a chance of finding a cop a little farther down the road and losing my license :D Was done on an unpopular interstate highway where there were not many cars at all.

Only performance upgrade other than the InTune would be my custom exhaust (true dual Aero Turbine mufflers with no cats). Plan on getting 4.10 gears and longtube headers in the future. More concerned with my quarter mile time than top end speed. But anyway here is what I got.

New Aero Turbine Exhaust - No Cats (w/ video)

Permanent Linkby carsonhowe22 on Aug 05 2012, 6:15am

I recently did some exhaust work to the Batmobile. My previous setup involved only a Flowmaster 40 series just for a little rumble. A couple months ago I cut off the catalytic converters and installed a turndown pipe to make the exhaust shoot at the ground and make it louder around the truck. That made the truck louder but it still wasn't loud enough for me. Finally I ordered two Aero Turbine 2525 mufflers and cut out the stock Y-pipe to run true duals. I am happier than ever with the sound! I have videos of my truck with the Flowmaster by itself, the Flowmaster with no cats turned down, and of my new Aero Turbines.

Just cleaned my truck yesterday and went to the drag strip. Got a lot of stares and compliments. Proud of my Batmobile Silverado. 8-)

Grille Project: Complete

Permanent Linkby carsonhowe22 on Jun 20 2012, 7:38am

My truck is now officially the Batmobile. I had an idea for a custom grille a little while back and the dream finally became a reality. Also have a blue/UV underglow behind the grille and in the wheel wells.

I started out with a chrome grille that had no emblem in the center, just a full diamond mesh. I painted it black with Krylon Fusion gloss black spray paint and bolted on the Dark Knight emblem, made of powdercoated stainless steel. After that, I installed the LEDs for the underglow in the grille and wheel wells, wired to the same switch as my interior footwell lighting.
