Help with ABS brakes

HI,I HAVE A 2003 GMC SIERRA 4x4,when i stop even on dry pavement periodically i feel the abs kick in for no good reason.the brake pads are new two months ago.any thoughts would be appreciated

I know there is recalls on the abs for these trucks I just not sure what years also on some of them you have to bleed out the abs unit too when you bleed brakes. but I'd look into the recalls if I were you.

I've had the issue before on my old truck, which was a 97 Sierra. I believe the issue is, that the speed sensors get rusty and corroded, and so they can't accurately tell what speed the wheels are going. Hence, they kick in the ABS too early. I think the fix is to see what sensors are bad, and replace them.

fixed it !!!!!!!,there are recalls here in canada for the 2000- 2002 and of course mine is a 03. the prob was a bad wheel sensor on the drivers front.i found it while cleaning the sensors.thanks to all.
