Are you absolutely sure they sold it, or did they just tell you they sold it. They can't sell it until they have the title to it, and if your old loan has not been paid off, your lender (lean holder for the vehicle you traded in) would still have the title (assuming you had a traditional vehicle loan and not a signature loan for it). Even if you had a signature loan, you would have had the title and would have had to sign it over to the dealership.

yea something is wrong somewhere........ when i bought my new truck the dealer had the check from the financial ins. when i signed all the papers....... idk how and why they would give you a new truck without getting there money?????? that is a messed up dealer lol

They can and do sell trade ins without them being paid off first and it is absolutely illegal. If you haven't seen, recently Michael Holley owner of a Chevy dealership in Lakeland spent a few years in jail for that very reason. Do not let them threaten you. You are right. There is something wrong with the truck and I had a 2010 Sierra did the same thing. I finally traded it for a 2011 Silverado and it is 10 times better. I would get a hold of Fox 13 and 8 on Your Side and have them ask a few questions too.

I guess I should have said they can not LEGALLY sell a vehicle before the lien is released.
