Im new to the automatic vehicle aswell as a truck owner and i have a 2010 silverado and when i try to put the parking brake on every once in a while i have to press it several times before it catches...dont know if i am or can be doing something wrong or if i should be brought in to the shop.....wanted to post this before i took the time to bring it to the dealer to see what you all have to say

Push it pretty firmly with your foot. If you do it slowly, or softly, it may not catch. Also, if you stop at all as you push it, it might release. Be firm!

Yeah no matter how I push it it does it iv tried alot of different ways

If your hitting " touching " your other brake then it won't engage. I set mine and couldn't get it to release right and had to dig out the manual to see how dumb I was...
