99 silverado stuck on defrost

Only my defrost setting works, won't change to other settings. Heat and a/c work fine. Please help!

Its the electric solenoid that switches a rubber paddle to change the direction of air flow. Either that or your switch itself is messed up.

^^^ What he said. Defrost is the default setting when something goes wrong. I also remember something about a vac. hose but I can't remember if it was to do with your problem.........:)

Well depends on how much electrical work you have done. It would basically consist of you getting underneath your dash and taking some plastic covers off. If you got small hands it's pretty easy. But for me since all the plastic clips and pieces break if you don't know how to disassemble them or reassemble them, I'd just take it to someone it might cost you 100 bucks parts and labor depending on how fast your mechanic can get it done.

I have the newer body style 99 not the older one does this make a difference ?
