Hey guys got a little issue with my dads truck the compressor turns off and on the entire time its on and we were told it was the temperature sensor that was bad. Here is a video of what its doing and any help would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Given the age of the truck, I'd put my money on it being low in freon. Buy or borrow a gauge ,or get the $40 recharge kit from a local auto parts store. Check to see if the pressure is in range before adding any freon.

Good luck, keep us posted.

So problem fixed. Took about 10oz. of freon and a new A/C actuator. Now looks like it might need a new A/C and heater control since it kicks on the compressor when the knob is turned to defrost and it stops blowing hot air to the windshield. Also needs a new blower motor resistor since it only turns on in the 3, 4, and 5 settings. Thanks for the help McFly! :D

Glad you got it going. The compressor is supposed to run during defrost. It pulls moisture out of the air before it hits the windshield. Dryer air = faster defrost.

My 2000 was doing the same thing. I leak checked it and didn't find any leaks. Over time rubber o-rings and rubber hoses leak slightly and eventually it will be low on freon.
