I noticed over the summer warm air would randomly start coming out of the vents. I thought it was the A/C, but warm air would still come out when I turned the fan off. This happens randomly; sometimes it'll be ice cold the whole trip, others it'll be warm. My girlfriend noticed it was coming from the middle vent and not either of the side vents.
I recharged the A/C but it didn't help at all. Any thoughts?
Kinda sounds like a air door issue if its only certain vents, or maybe a clogged exchanger. But does it go to the correct vents when you change the directional setting with the nob? I had that problem with my truck, PIA to change. One of the only things I had a shop do lol
I believe there is what is called a blend door in the system. It moves to allow either more warm or cold air to keep the temperature that you have selected. I sounds like that door is not functioning properly. I don't have a clue how to fix it though. Am sure someone else will be able to add to this. Good luck.
The doors are actuated by servo motors buried in the dash. If you feel like taking apart your whole dash go for it but taking it to the dealer would be easier.
