Although this isn't the same problem, it is a bit similar. Check other modes of operation such as vent, defrost. If none of that works, post back and I'll get a hold of one of our techs via PM and have them read your post and see if they can come up with other options or things to look into. If you could add a little more information of things you've tried, that would be helpful too. Did this just all of a sudden happen or was it intermittent for a while; things like that. As much meat as you can put with dem taters will make it easier to diagnose.

Putting the system at max 90 degrees blocks out the auto climate control. It seems something is wrong with the AUTO part of the climate control system. Further than that I can't speculate but I would first start looking at the climate control sensor which in NNBS trucks is up in the roof liner above and to the left of the drivers head. Hopefully Onlyina can get a line on some more specific advice for you....

'03 Silverado The AC cools but to heat it needs to be set to 90. Any other setting turns the AC on full. The fan and seclector work fine.

Esox is correct, when set at either max (full cold or hot) the climate control or auto function will be bypassed. Anywhere in between the hvac module uses various duct, ambient and inside cabin temps to vary temp and fan speed controls until the desired temp is reached. Any of those said sensors could cause an Issue. Best bet is to try and pull codes from the hvac module and go from there
