Low air flow

Low air flow

Postby flamed34 [OP] » Jul 04 2012, 11:49pm

Hello everyone, another newbie here. still trying to navigate the site so I hope I am in the right place for this. I have a 2002 Silverado with what I'll call a regular (manual) climate contol. Everything works properly but I get very little air flow out of the drivers side vent between the steering column and window. Its been like that since I bought the truck (2 years ago) but these 100 degree days are killing me! can anyone shed a little light on this as to what the culprit might be? thanks in advance.

Possibly the feed hose has come loose and is dumping the air out behind the dash.

2002's have a cabin air filter. It's may be plugged shut. How's the flow through the rest of the vents?

all the other vents are fine. cabin air filters have been changed. is there a blend door somewhere for just that vent that might not be opening all the way?

If you could get ahold of a bore scope you could feed it down through the vent and see if it's got an obstruction or is disconnected somewhere.
