Power Steering with a Plow

Power Steering with a Plow

Postby nuge31 [OP] » Aug 23 2011, 3:38am

Hello,
i have an 06 HD and have noticed that at slow speeds with my plow on my power steering fights me. I have been told that because it is run differently on the Dmax.. I have gotten thru the last couple years but I am buying a heavier plow and am afraid this might cause problems. Has anyone had to deal with this or know anything useful about this... thanks

Is the power steering pump going bad? I talked to another guy who plows with an 03 2500HD (6.0, not the Duramax) and he said his pump has been replaced 4 times.

My trucks got 120,000 on it and its plow since new in 1999 and the pump is still factory. but I do notice a little difference with the plow on but there is alot of extra weight on the front end so I think it's to be expected.
