We have the membership, we just need the 6.6L crowd to stand up also. We'll get there...

im here and check in a lot. But my discussions are on topics not covered here as of yet. I might suggest making the 6.6 a little more, in the sense of a few options within that forum. Like how the engine forums have 9 choices within type of thing.

I can work on writing up a few stickies on different topics, will probably take me a couple weeks.

Most people here are smart enough to go with a gas job........just kidding.
There is always enough time to do it over again, but never enough time to do it right the first time.

...because gassers last longer and get better fuel mileage with 300hp huh. That payload is crazy awesome too. Lol Shots fired!

Since i'm such a good diplomat...yeah right... at least the gassers have a lower maintenance bill haha. I'm happy to spend more for 1000lb ft though :)

New guy here. Just took delivery of a 2017 Sierra 2500 SLT. This is my first GMC, first 3/4 ton and first diesel. I know I have a lot to learn so I joined a couple of model specific websites to help me get up to speed.

In most years I would say yea, 6.0's would outlast a Duramax on average. On the new ones? Too soon to make a call. But from a reliability standpoint I'd choose a 2004 6.0 gas over a 2004 Duramax if all else were the same.
Yea they get worse mileage, but it takes a lot of miles to break even on a diesel. I bet the average owner would need to own it for 15-20 years before approaching break even point.
I think about the whole picture. Its not just the increased cost of the engine. Its the increased sales tax you pay for that higher priced rig, and in my case because its valued higher, that means higher yearly property tax. So it all adds up.
So a mileage statement doesn't hold.
Return fire!

I made the conversion about 5 months ago and I'm loving it! Pulling the deck boat or enclosed trailer is a lot easier, no struggling now.
