Airbox mod

I added some holes too after running with out the panel at all at first. I worried about water though so I tried the holes. I didn't notice any difference so I cut a piece of ABS the same shape as area with holes and attached with some Epoxy. Just like factory now 8-)

You could always use these little 1" push in style filters for when you drill holes in the side or bottom of the airbox. These can be had cheap and I used to use them on my ATV.

Im on a never ending quest to gather up enough pop cans so I can buy a nice extended cab or crew cab, so I don't have to hide my head when im driving this strippy standard cab of mine. So people don't have to feel sorry for me.

I did this mod on my 07 sierra and my 14 silverado. Never had any issues with water unless I went way to crazy. I recently switched to a full airaid intake and have been having serious IAT issues compared to stock box. Example. ambient temp 80 stock modded box was usually 10 higher during driving and 20-30 higher sitting still. As for the new airaid driving is 20-30 higher than ambient and sitting it would sky rocket. I insulated the box and tube with heat wrap it helped a ton but for the price of the system Its insane how hot the air charge gets

Lol. After this run, did you find any water in the air filter, this was one of my worries. Thanks
