Electrical Synopsis

The charging system has three major components. The Battery, Alternator, and the Regulator. The alternator works together with the battery to supply power when the vehicle is running. The output of an alternator is direct current, however AC voltage is actually created and then converted to DC as voltage leaves the alternator on its way to the battery and the electrical loads. The Diode Rectifier Bridge is responsible for the conversion or rectification of AC voltage to DC voltage. Anyone can change an electrical part. But how many technicians can test and troubleshoot an electrical circuit on a vehicle and KNOW what's wrong? Can you use more hands-on training in automotive electrical repair, truck electrical repair or more vehicle electronics troubleshooting training? Common search terms: electrical wire terminals circuitry fuses issue switches connectors amperage diagnosis voltage wiring bulbs relays parts components electric discussion specific trucks category starters ignition batteries alternators anything

Electrical
In this forum we discuss situations where the ignition switch is turned off and the doors open. The measured voltage of the alternators output at 12 volts. A rise in temperature or an electrical connector at the end of a wire or harness used to connect the wiring component such as a bulb socket that is provided with wires. Headlights dimming at a certain amperage or current draw. Turn signals not working or fuses blown.
