07 new body "service air bag soon"

Postby dalejrfan88 [OP] » Jan 26 2012, 5:57pm

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else had the service air bag soon light appear on their cluster on these new body trucks. mine just popped up today. I heard to try and make sure wire connecters are tight under both seats which they were. I also checked the fuse under hood(which i heard it could be) and it seemed very corroded. so i replaced it with another one and the messege still appeared. However i didnt run the truck very long after attempting the fuse fix in my driveway and just shut it down again when i saw the light. Is is possible i need to drive it awhile to cancel this light out? or is it something else you may have experienced. Any help would be awesome, or its on the way to the stealership!!!! Thanks!

p.s also heard it could be clock spring but all the other controls on my steering wheel work fine and i guess those will not work if that spring is bad :(

In case anyone reads this. I got it scanned at the dealer. It ended up being the right passenger side impact sensor which is mounted under the front grill under some plastic shrouding but is attached to the frame, its a bi@tch to get to and is a 119 dollar part :( . There is two of them and the service advisor says that they corrode easy and that my other one will blow out shortly as well. Says they cant even keep these sensors in stock they go thru so many with these nbs trucks. It can be a safety issue i believe this should be a recall item. wasnt thrilled costed 200 bucs :x
