Brake lights, rear turn signals, reverse lights dead

Brake lights, rear turn signals, reverse lights dead

Postby ChanSharp [OP] » Oct 27 2011, 10:51pm

Hey guys I'm new to the forum.. and am pretty stumped with this problem. i wanna get it fixed before i get pulled over haha.
Anyways.. i was driving a few nights ago and realized when i was using my turn signals it was flashing too fast, as if it was burnt out or something.. so i went to look and quickly realized my brake lights, running lights, turn signals, and reverse lights aren't working. And i figured it would be impossible for them all to burn out at the same time. but my 3rd brake light, everything still works. I figured i could check fuses, unplugged or cut wires? i just didn't know which fuses would be corresponding or where to check wires.. any input or ideas?

thanks in advance.

Did you happen to tow anything right before they went out?

I had that problem on my 2000 silverado happen to be just two fuses burnt out. There is a diagram in your owners manual that tells you what size of fuse, the abbreviated name, full name, and where its located. If not that there is a circuit connectors underneath the back middle of your bed where your two tail lights and tow lights connect into your main wires, you could check and see if one of those plugs are loose. Other than that i don't know for sure, i was lucky mine was an easy fix.
