Brake lights wont work

Postby dennis001us [OP] » Dec 26 2013, 5:31pm

My 2000 chevy Silverado's brake lights will not work. all other lights and turn signals work. I replaced the brake switch, Junction box, bulbs and all fuses are good. What can I do now to try and fix this. The wire running through the fire wall from under the hood to the brake switch is not hot? Note: I had a heater core put in and after that the cruse control does not work? How can I fix the brake lights?

You will have to get a wiring diagram and start tracing the circuits that do not work. It is possible that some wires were not hooked back up when they had the dash out to replace the heater core.

I had the same problem. There is a connector with 7 pins that we couldn't find the other half to. Seems it was behind the drivers side vent. Now cruise control is back but now I've no brake lights. No power at the stop lps fuse and so no power @ the brake switch/ orange wire

I didn't mean to imply that one caused the other. Brake lights went out before I found the CC plug

It finally stopped raining so I'm going to figure out why the veh stop lps & third brake light fuses connection have no juice. it's just those two fuses next to each other

hey got everything working. Turns out one wire connector did not get plugged back in. It was right behind the drivers side vent. When doing the heater core just about everything gets taken apart and sometimes they don't all get back together.
