Is there a factory dual battery harness that can be purchased through GM? if so what is the part number?
I would like to add a secondary battery because even with the alternator that comes with the snow plow package, i am still having problems with keeping up with the spot lights on for an extended period of time on my truck.

The HD trucks come with dual batteries, you might be able to by a kit for that truck and install it on yours.

Try www.atct-guardiansys.com. They have a complete system. They use a specialized battery isolator that prioritizes the charge between starting and auxilliary. It comes with a remote switch so you don't need to put holes in your firewall and dash. I ran a switch through my dash and I sure don't want to go through that hassle again. I have run the backup system for 2 years and it works great. You will not get stranded again plus you can run all your extara like winches, lights, amps. etc.

the hd diesels and gas burners have different battery cables under the hood all together...your gonna need the battery hold down, the bolt for the hold down, ground wire for the driver side new battery, and that big mass of power wires....

OR..you could just buy the second batter and the hold down and bolt at the dealership....and find yourself a stereo shop and have them wire it in MUCH cheaper and will be better quality wiring.

See below:

American Trailer Component Technology, http://www.atct-guardiansys.com/
supplies a complete kit with some options. I have been running this for 4 years now without problems. I run some auxilliary stuff off the second battery as well. Wiring is completely painless.
