Hi there, i just bought a 2000 silverado ext cab 4x4. The problems are:
1--the fuel hand sometimes goes to e and full, it jumps back and forth all the time.
2.--4x4 wont enguage, light blinks and goes back to 2 hi, can hear the motor under the truck going though.
3.--door chime not working
4.--locks dont unlock when i shift back into park
5.--daytime running lights seem to work sometimes and not work other times

I have checked all the fuses and they seem all good. im going to clean up the ground wires under the drivers door today to see if its that. not really sure what else it could be , seems to me like its a bad ground causing all the problems. anyone else had same problems or similar?

WELCOME to the site!
I think you are on the right track, looking at the ground wires. We see that a lot here, when there are multiple electrical issues. Do that, and then let us know how it goes.

1) It sounds like you need a new fuel pump assemble. I think the fuel sending unit (part of the fuel pump assembly) has gone bad.
2) The encoder on the transfer case may be bad. I think they are known for problems that cause your symptoms. I'm not sure if connecting a diagnostic tool will show codes for this or not, but it is worth a shot.
3) Possibly a bad door switch. Does the interior light come on when the door is opened? If not, maybe someone removed the chime.
4) You should be able to change the function through the factory radio to determine when the doors lock and unlock. Check your owners manual for further details.
5) The light sensor in the dash could be defective.
