When you say "comes on", do you mean lights up? Help me understand.

The gauge cluster is bad..my buddy has a 2000 2500hd and he had to have his replaced at 77k miles..the area were it showed the gears wouldnt work, then the odometer wouldnt work. He ended up buying a cluster off ebay and having the dealership install it.

very easy fix just need to re solder the board. There is a place when you take a part the housing you have to bend some wires and at the wire is where needs to be re solder. Fixed mine in twenty minutes. there is all kinds of info on repairing your cluster. I found the info at fixya.com

I'm having the same issue with mine (2005 Rado 1500 Z71). Is removing the dash pretty simple. Does the whole thing have to come out. Maybe this issue would be a good "How To" article since there are so many asking about it. Just a thought. Good luck with yours jager.
