Headlight wire diagram

Headlight wire diagram

Postby samborra003 [OP] » Jul 25 2013, 4:43pm

Really needing to get this ccfl wiring figured out. Thought I had it but they only came on automatically at night or if I turned my fog lights on. Any and all help appreciated.

I believe they are suppose to be wired with your DRLs. (Daytime Running Lights). At least, the ones I order have the CCFL Halos and the LED Running Lights which they said need to be "tapped" or "spliced" into your headlight harness. Best thing I would do, is pull your headlight out, unplug the harness, turn your lights on/only your daytime running lights, take a voltmeter/multimeter and figure out which wire is getting the most power. Whichever that one is, will be your DRL, then splice into that one. If I'm wrong, someone please chime in. GL!

I think my DRL lights turn off when the head lights are on, But anyways your DRLs are on the bottom set of head lights and your regular lights are on top high beam on the inside and low on the out side. Just look at the colors on the wires.

I attempted the volt meter and haven't had much luck. I have about lost hope lol but eventually I will run out of wires I suppose but I don't want it to get to that.

The volt meter is a sure fire way with the head lights on, just put one lead to ground, and just go though all the wires (make sure you volt meter is set to ground..... another thing you can do it just connect your OE lights and look at the wire colors lol

What model truck do you have? On a Nnbs the drls and low beams are the same bulb but different voltage. I wouldnt think that you would want them on everytime that particular bulb was one. I think that you would be better served to have them on their own switch. Just depends on your intentions. Halos with drls would be tacky imo
