How do I install an aftermarket tachometer?

Postby willdathrill81 [OP] » Aug 11 2011, 3:19am

Im trying to install a aftermarket tachometer to my truck but since i have an electronic ignition im getting lost with where i would use the green wire for the coil. I found the wires for the factory rpm gauge along with the speedometer, gas and voltage and all but it was all into one clip together. Im just not sure which one i would splice into. If yall know anyway to help thank you.

Did the tach you baught come with any instructions? if not look up the brand and model on the web to see if they offer any online install instructions.

The last aftermarket tach I installed was on a motorcycle and it had one wire that went to the ground wire of one of the coils and the other wire went to a frame ground. It also had a positive wire that was wired into a fused positive line to power the lights.
