Long Range Fuel Tank

Long Range Fuel Tank

Postby Mr Wato [OP] » Dec 30 2011, 2:13am

Hi
I have a 2011 Silverado 2500 4x4
I had a long range tank fitted before I picked it up and I don't think the trip computer is calibrated to the new tank size. Is there any way to do this simply ??
Cheers Phil

Hi Wheeler82
Thanks for info, but its not just miles/kilometres its fuel left and litres per hundred, they are all wrong, what is EFI LIVE ?
I wouldn't have anything but a diesel engine, our fuel is too expensive..

Usually aftermarket venbors size tanks for your truck, so you dont have to do any modication, maybe you have to contact them.

I woulda thought over time (couple tanks) it would have adjusted to the increased fuel capacity.

Capacity would be programmed into it but over time it should learn the distance to empty because it would think you were getting awesome mpg's.

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank

Postby Mr Wato [OP] » Jan 12 2012, 12:03pm

Hi All
I am still having problems with the trip computer, fuel consumption,lt per/100,distance to empty and more..I live in Western Australia and don't know who I can contact in regards to this..The dealer I bought this from (In Victoria)does not have a clue,,could someone please put me in contact with a dealer or ? that may be able to help with this problem.. I paid $144,000.00 for this truck and would like it to work the way GM intended. The long range tank I had installed is a GM part so I would think the computer would recognise it..
Any help would be greatly appreciated .
Cheers Phil
