Memory seats stopped working

Worked yesterday, not today

Memory seats stopped working

Postby Mossyoakglock [OP] » May 09 2017, 2:20pm

This morning I tried to use my memory seats and the seat did not return to its original position. I tried the switches for the heated seats and they worked (the light lit up but I didn't wait to see if the seat heated or not).

I used the memory seat yesterday as well and it worked yesterday. I did retune my truck with the 87 Octane Tune on Sunday (previously only had Modified Stock tune with AFM turned off).

Any thoughts? Switch bad? Seat memory module? Something with the tune even though they worked yesterday?

Maybe they just lost their program. Did you try setting them to a different position and then moving the seat...then trying the memory button again so see if they are working?

I was rushing to get to work and didn't think about trying that. I'll go out there in a little bit and give that a shot.

If they did lose their programming I wonder how that would have happened if they worked yesterday.

Not sure. If they were somehow reset during the programming...that should have showed up on Monday since you did it on Sunday. I would think it would take a battery disconnect to have that happen.

Also, the memory function and seat heaters should be on separate fuses...so if they still don't work...look for a fuse blown.

Battery hasn't been disconnected either. Even when I have disconnected the battery the seat memory doesn't clear.

I have the PDF owners manual on my computer and didn't see a fuse listed for heated seats or seat memory but I'll check fuses when I go out there.

sorry about that. Been super busy lately.

I went out at lunch the morning that they didn't work and went out and pushed the memory button and it worked. Tried it a few other times since then and it has been working. Go figure!

I turned mine off about a year ago because they had a mind of their own. I'm the only one that drives my truck anyway...
