Seat Position Recall

not reverting to driver 1 on FOB

Seat Position Recall

Postby CHUNTLEY [OP] » Sep 13 2011, 4:19pm

I have a '04 Silverado with the leather seats that have the seat position recall (#1 and #2). There seems to be no problem with the computer remembering the positions or mirror placement/radio/climate control settings, however, when i lock the doors with the FOB and then unlock them with the FOB, it ALWAYS reverts to Driver 2. I have turned seat recall off on both drivers, i have turned them both to "On Key Fob" and every combination of possibilities. I don't know what else to try other than set #2 as the one I want to use, and program #1 for my wife (as she doesn't drive my truck very much). Has anyone else had this problem and is there anything i can do about it?

***Note: the FOB I am using has the number 1 on the back of it, so it should be calling for driver 1

I really hate to say it but you might have to let the dealer look at it.

Try the other fob first. My 03 SS Silverado had a 1 and 2 on the back of them. They wear off easy though. I am currently driving with fob 2 on my 10 Sierra (which are not marked) and need to swap them out so I can turn the fob control back on.

The "1" is definitely clearly visible on my FOB. Also, the dealership I got it from only had one FOB when I got the truck (used). I wonder why even when the "Seat Position Recall" is turned to "Off" it still does this? Thanks for the ideas though!
