It seems to be a short of some kind as it lightly flickers when the truck is on, some days is brighter than other. Some days its off or hardly even visiable. Never caused any problems starting the truck, but lights flickering on my dash bother me.

It does have an aftermarket alarm, that is the only aftermarket electrical accesssorie. That said it is a basic short cab 5 Speed with no power options.

Any idea what could be causing this or where to start looking to hunt this down. Chilton was of little help and so was googling this same problem.

Disconnect the alarm and see if it fixes it.

I disconnected the Alarm and it made no change. Oddly enough I have now learned the light stays dimly light 24/7. Even when they key is out and the truck is locked just sitting in the garage it stays dimly light.

Any sort of grounding issue maybe?
