Where the heck is the Turn signal/Hazard Flasher?

Where the heck is the Turn signal/Hazard Flasher?

Postby silvertongue1980 [OP] » Aug 28 2011, 4:01pm

I just bought a 2005 Chevy 1500 Z71.
On my way home I found that the turn signals and emergency flashers aren't working. Experience tells me its the flasher , but I can't find it marked on any of my PDC maps. Can anyone help with this???
Thanks,
Daniel

I think the flashers are controlled by the BCM...there is not the "old fashioned" relay/flasher thing to swap out.

Ya I don't think the newer cars/truck have flashers anymore. Check all fuses and relays.

There is a flasher relay, I have a part # for it. I just can't find the physical location of it on the truck.
Thanks again for the quick replies

Did you check here:

Instrument Panel Fuse Block
The fuse block access
door is on the driver’s side
edge of the instrument
panel. Pull off the cover to
access the fuse block.
To remove fuses, hold the end of the fuse between
your thumb and index finger and pull straight out.
You may have spare fuses located behind the fuse block
access door. These can be used to replace a bad
fuse. However, make sure it is of the correct amperage.

Check you owner manual. That where I got the above from. Take the cover off and it should show you where the "flash" is located

I have checked the fuse for the flasher, it is good. I can't find the flasher relay itself.
Thanks,
Daniel

It's on the bottom of the instrument panel fuse box. You might be able to see it looking up from under the dash, but I cannot confirm this as I can only look up repair information and don't have an actual vehicle to look at.

I tried to cut and paste from the owners manual but could not. If you go to the bottom on the page and look up the owners manual and go to page 5-129 and 5-130 it will show you where the flasher is suppose to be.

Flasher is a 10 or 13 pin box, above the accelerator. The number with trailer option is 25746427 and runs about $85 list at GM.
