I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has the hybrid version of our truck and what they thought of it.

I've never even seen one. Got my truck from the biggest dealership in the area, and they don't have any on the lot.
Dang it's hot!

here is a link to one from the dealer i bought my truck from. my sales guy just past right over it and said, "you don't want that." Plus I wouldn't have bought it anyway as it has the bench seat in front, which I don't like. But I read a review on them and was just looking for first hand knowledge.

This is NOT a sales push. Just a link if someone wants to see what they look like.

yes. I think you are just paying for the electric/gas parts of the engine....In the review I read it stated that the truck will get up to 25 or 35 mph on just the batteries before the gas engine kicks in. That would be weird to me. Moving quietly and then boom! But you also get a tonneau cover HD trailering package, and four wheel disk breaks as standard. As well as the blue tooth phone on the steering wheel, the DIC, and a GVWR of 7300 pounds.

I got to drive a Tahoe hybrid for about a week. It was kind of fun. It did not really matter how ya drove it around town, it got 23 MPG. If you feathered the accelerator, you could get up to about 30MPH on just battery. Nothing I would want to own, but fun to try out.

Weird thing was, when she came to life, it was in a HUGE way. That big 6.1l would fire and you be roaring off.

With so many hybrids appearing on the roads, I do worry about what will happen to all of those batteries. I hope they have a good recycling plan!

Why didn't you want to own one? Besides the battery recycle issue was there any other reason you didn't like it? That is awesome gas mileage!

From what I have heard, GM requires the dealers do take these vehicles through some driving schedule to keep the trucks charged up and ready to go. That was a few years ago. Not sure if it still applies today. Kinda like charging the battery on your old clunker then quickly drive it out to the road and sell it.
