Air Intake

After markey cold air intake causing problems

sounds like the cone filter u bought is plugged and isnt letting any air get into the motor, have u tried to get another filter for it other than the stock?, ive seen sum really crappy filters from ebay/craigs, just a thought,

i highly doubt that a computer tune is needed just for a CAI , it really doesnt make enough of a performance change to require a tune, the pcm will adapt itself to the higher volume of air ( hence the reason to have a maf) lol

I took the bat cable off for 30 mins or so then installed and let it run(idle) for about 30mins still did the same thing. I took it on and off, called the dealer still no luck...My truck is like a women, I don't understand what it does and why it does it

Hey tom, I tought about replacing the filter with another one, what do you think about leaving the cone off and installing the set up and see if it still does it?

Can you take a pic of this CAI? I am interested in seeing what it looks like.

If the CAI is properly designed and built you should not have such problems? Is there some open area on the tube the could be sucking air?

I never heard of anyone having problems like this, I installed about a dozen of the Injen CAI systems on gas and diesels in the last few years and never experienced anything like this. Its always been plug and play easy.

I agree with Z15... In the old days if it had a carb. I would start looking for a vacuum leak. But I think the same principals apply. It sounds like it is sucking air from some where it's not suppose to and the MAF is trying to compansate for it.

i left the tube on with the stock filter and no problem, is there suppose to be an O ring or anything around the MAF? maybe the adapter isn't making a seal..
