Why isn't there a forum section for my engine?

Can't find your engine? Read why.

WHY CAN'T I FIND TOPICS IN A SECTION SPECIFIC TO MY ENGINE?

So here's the deal... The reason we don't have other engine sections is that our site is focused on Silverado/Sierra trucks specifically.

Where the confusion comes in is the term "Silverado" was a designation used only to detail the trim for the Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks from 1975 through 1999. GMC used a few variations of the "Sierra" name (Sierra, High Sierra, Sierra Grande, Sierra Classic) to distinguish the different trim levels through 1987, though the "C/K" nomenclature was continued through 1999.

Officially, Silverado/Sierra's didn't begin until 1998 when the 1999 models were released. A lot of guys have a little badge on their truck that reads "Silverado" so they believe they have a Silverado. That is fine, you are absolutely welcome here, but we're not going to deviate from the focus of the site by creating infinite forum sections for other engines. A perfect example is the topic entitled: Looking for a certain emblem... He has a 1996 C1500 which is not an official "Silverado" but it is a C1500 with a badge on the pillar indicating the "Silverado" trim level. We're not picking on him at all, just using his 1996 as an example.

So to be as clear as possible...

Where is the 5.0L engine section?
Technically Silverado/Sierra never came with a 5.0L engine. If you've got a 5.0L engine you've got yourself an old C/K truck 1999 or older. Please post your topic in the general engine forum.

Where is the 5.7L engine section?
Technically Silverado/Sierra never came with a 5.7L engine. If you've got a 5.7L engine you've got yourself an old C/K truck 1999 or older. Please post your topic in the general engine forum.

Basically, we're of the belief that if a person considers their truck a Silverado or Sierra, they are welcome here. At the same time, since we are trying to remain focused so we don't highlight different engines separately in the site. Hope that clears things so that we have a peaceful understanding of the critical emphasis of this site.

Well there is like 9 variations of the 5.3L so confusion is likely even with a focus on a given size.

That being said, there should be an 'other or older' engine grouping.
