I have an '07 vortex max with an airaid intake-no complaints. I also got the TB spacer, but am sure I wasted $100-just makes a whistling noise and don't think it did anything.

You obviously have it on now, notice a difference? I love my Air Raid CAI. Easy to install, great sound, awesome throttle response!

Has any one done a comparison with a CAI vs just a drop in performance filter? Are the CAI really worth the extra money? My past two trucks I purchased the full systems, but I have read a few places just doing the filter is more than enough.

I have pretty much heard the same, I think the main function of the "big accordian" and air chambers are for silencing the intake rush of air. But isn't that one of the reasons you put it on?

Kinda what I figured also.

I had a Volant CAI on my previous truck and I loved the sound of the air screaming though it.
