O2 sensor

O2 sensor

Postby rosyboa [OP] » Feb 06 2011, 1:19am

I'm trying to change the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor on a 2000 Silverado 1500 4x4 5.3L and cannot reach the wire plug. Is there an inspection plate on the transmission hump to get at the plug? Or is there some other access point for the plug? Thank you very much for your assistance. RB

nope you just gotta remove the connector from the push pin lock and that will bring it a little closer to you, but yeah they can be a pain to disconnect the first time. try pulling straight up on the connector(not the wires) and it should release.
