Oil Capacity

Postby vrodrex [OP] » Sep 12 2010, 4:50am

Might seem like a stupid question, but there is not an owners manual in the truck I just bought (2000 - 1500 w/ 5.3). How many quarts of oil do these engines hold? Didn't know if they hold 5qts. like the 5.0 and 5.7's I've had in the past or what. BTW, does anyone know where I can get an owners manual?

Might also want to check with your auto parts store, as I think there is a larger capacity filter that can be used, like the old 350's that used a pf25 or a larger pf35.
