It is a can that catches oil blowby from the crankcase on worn engines. I prefer to make the repair rather than mask the problem.

This sounds like something totally different than i was thinking, sounds more performance based?? Didn't mean to react like i did just sounded like something if you had an old tired out motor with blowby you throw this on lol

Blowby is pretty common in some engines, like the 3.6L in my Acadia. Nothing wrong with the engine, that I know of...just bad design.

I've not heard of this in our trucks. ????

Diablo only makes them for MOPAR vehicles (go figure ). I'm really not sure why you'd buy one, unless there is a legitimate issue with blowby in those motors.

Re: oil catch can

Postby CuppT » Feb 12 2012, 5:43am

I have one installed on my truck, i put it on around 10,000 miles and i love it. Here is a link to the one i picked up.
( http://www.revxtreme.com/ ) Not only is it a very solid product, but the customer service is great the attention to detail is amazing and they color match to a hand full of GM paint colors (5th Gen Camaro colors) for free. I have run about 2500 miles on it so far and no problems i will check it when i do my next oil change and see how much has accumulated.

Here is more info on the oil catch cans and why people install them. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109416
