Radiator heater hose

Postby rglickman [OP] » Jun 02 2010, 3:07am

The heater hoses on my 92 1500, 5.7 l need changing. The hose from the firewall to the radiator (outlet hose?) is straight 3/4 inch line with clamps. The one from the firewall to the engine (inlet) is something new to me. It is 3/4 inline that goes into a formed steel line with fittings I am not used to. When I pull up a parts diagram it shows both hoses are supposed to have fittings. I am thinking perhaps the previous owner modified one of the hoses. My questions are:

1. What kind of fitting is it?
2. Do parts stores carry the hose? Pep Boys didn't have a clue but I see them on line
Can I just buy new fitings and make a hose? I see fittings advertised online: DORMAN OEM REPLACEMENT HEATER HOSE CONNECTOR -- A High Quality Direct Fit OEM Replacement Heater Inlet Hose 5/8 Tube To 1/2" Thread

Thanks!

Its a quick clip connector that is in between the hose and core. It maybe dealer only.
