2011 Silverado extended cab long bed **Exhaust**

Postby hocman22 [OP] » Dec 09 2011, 1:37am

Ive got a 2011 Silverado long bed extended car and want to upgrade the exhaust system to sound beefier. Ive been looking for so long and have one. A magna flow with a single exit. I'd like dual side exits if possible or maybe is it possible to split it to the sides? Thanks Sorry fro the dumb questions -.-

you can install a muffler that has one input (from headers) and two output pipes. This is not a "true duel" set up but its what most people in my area have. I am considering a flowmaster 50 series with original piping. GM puts some high quality pipe under these trucks. I hate to scrap it for duels. I have used them in the past but this time i think i will stick with stock pipes or turn the pipes down after the axle.

Basically. I would not count on picking up any "performance" from the muffler alone. Maybe if you had a number of other mods. The sound will be a little less than duels but thats why i will go this route.

what muffler would you recommend? Ive been looking but heard some rumors if i wanna do a single in dual out(not a true duel) then i can't have the spare under the bed? not really sure but I'm going to try and have one custom made

I've got the flowmaster 50 with basically a stock setup and I love the sound of it, its really beefy and screams when you step on it. It's not obnoxious at all, I would definitely recommend it.

Is there a horrible drone when you're on the highway doing 75? I'm really looking into getting this setup for my truck but that is the only reserve I have.

Not at all, it's a little bit louder but not noticable really. I couldn't be happier with it and if you're just looking for a meaner sound without being obnoxious, this is definitely the way to go. I did also find I got a bit of a performance out of it too. Well worth the $175.

Agree the flow 50 sounds good, but with more and more grey hairs popping out on my old bean I went with the Flow 70. Nice little rumble on my stock exhaust and best of all , while towing, the inside has no drone. Good choice for those who want , just alittle some-some,,,
