I have a 99 GMC classic with about 95,000 miles andit just started making a whislting noise wich seems to be comming from the exhaust. In the cab it almost sounds like a turbo whine. Checked exhaust and found no leaks. Any thoughts out there and what I got going on would be helpful. Thanks

Have you added any running boards, bug shield , visors etc since before the noise ?

my truck does this but its coming from the front of the dash area or so it seems, It only does it with the AC on. Ive come to just live with it lol

I have added a bug shield but I hear the noise when I am idiling and not moving

I had a buddy who changed out his exhaust one time. He forgot to get a clamp when he bought the parts. So during assymbly that was left out. After starting the engine up.... during idle it would sound normal. During acceleration it would whistle like crazy. He loved it so much that he never did buy that hose clamp. lol

My guess is the fuel pump.

The fuel pump has always made a buzzing or kinda whistling noise since it was new. Have a friend who keeps telling me there is something wrong with my fuel pump. I just tell him he dosent know what he is talking about. lol This is a new noise. It really sounds almost like a turbo whine but you open the hood you really do not hear it much. Still confused ?

My 99 Chevy Silverado had that noise and I was thinking about Fuel Pump replacement. I decided to get underneath the truck and bang the Fuel Pump lightly with a hammer and it stopped. SUCCESS....

snowpill, if you find that it is something that needs replacing, dont just hit it with a hammer(no offense). But on a 99 i'd would strongly recommend replacing whatever it is
