Carven R series

Re: Carven R series

Postby Tungsten_Bowtie » Jun 02 2016, 2:01pm

So I got the carven r series put on yesterday I had them take the 3rd cat out. They ran new pipe from where the 3rd cat was to right before the rear axle put the carven r series and the ypipe right there and then out to the tips

Truck sounds great it's a little loud but I'm also getting a decent amount of drone in the cab
Anything that can be done besides a tune

Resanator ?

i left my cats in, i get pretty much no drone...

just hope people understand difference between exhaust muffler noise and drone...when you go down the road, the muffler will make a sound most of the time..drone is more of a air tunnel type wind sound slight vibration..

anyways, i havent taken my cats out so i wouldnt know the effect...but a resonator sounds like a plausible remedy

It sounds like a helicopter Be had several exhaust on several vehicles and never had drone.

So you left your 3rd cat in ?

Yeah I left my 3rd cat in also with no drone. By removing it you obviously would be making your truck louder using the same muffler. You can ether get their TR muffler which carven recommend using if you delete cats or use headers, install a resonator, or re-install your third cat.

What size is your tip? I'm about 98% sure I'm going with the Carven R series but I wanna get their Y pipe and run dual outlets. Just not sure where I want them to exit just yet. Will DEF be after the axle. Wonder what it would look like with 2 tips like you have one on each side? Not sure if I should go 4" outlet, 5" outlet or twin tip like yours

Mine are 4in. 5in might be a little too much.

Was just thinking about the tip you have. Found it on summit back ordered until 9/30/16.
Was thinking if I got 2 like you have and ran dual outlets would the tip on the drivers side be "backwards?" Not look right?

I would think you could just flip it upside down. You can also buy it from corsa but it's like $160
