Cut off rear exit tip

Postby Chasmanian [OP] » May 24 2011, 4:30am

After almost shoving the tip of my exhaust up into the lower part of the bed while out playing I figured it was time to go. I do like the stealth look. Also changed the tone a lil which I like and still no cabin drone from the Flow.

I really like the clean look of not seeing the pipe.
Now time to buff out all the scratches from playing this weekend.

Looks great, I chopped mine off before installing my Blastin Bob's muffler back and love the stealth look as well. The BB muffler back keeps the same look but dumps at the same level as the fender keeping the stealth looking going.

Cut off rear exit tip

Postby Jrluz14 » May 24 2011, 4:00pm

Nice. Personally I hate exhaust tips. I'll be chopping mine this week as well. One less thing to clean, which sucks especially with melted rubber on it.

Cut off rear exit tip

Postby Howzitbra » May 24 2011, 5:14pm

I posted some pics in another thread of where I cut mine off. I think it was titled "new muffler installed yesterday" or something like that. Cut the pipe off just on the backside of the axle but I was still able to use the existing hanger.

I cut mine in the same place as Howzitbra as well. I used a small Milwakee cordless sawzall to hack mine off. That stainless takes a little bit to cut through with a baby sawzall running on batteries.

Ya mine dumps just over the rear axle. I am happy with it. Wish I would have done it sooner.

Personally, I think exhaust tips can be a very complementing accent to a truck, but with yours hidden, Chas, it looks really sweet.
