DIY budget dual exhaust advice?

DIY budget dual exhaust advice?

Postby trippwhyre [OP] » Nov 06 2012, 3:29pm

Hi all,
Just bought a 1999 chevy silverado z71 ext cab....and looking to do a budget DIY dual exhaust. I'm not a mechanic know-it-all, but can figure most things out on cars with instructions and/or videos. I'm looking to do like a flowmaster super 50 exhaust and some dual pipes off it. Maybe 2.5", with some clamps. I've been told this can be accomplished about $200. Any advice, where to buy, or links of how-to?

Thanks in advance,
Trippwhyre

You can get the pipes from Jegs, Summit, or any host of others. Or, you can just go to your local speed shop or exhaust shop and get what you need. Just take plenty of measurements before hand. I was going to do my own, but my shop priced out a Flowmaster 50 series single in dual out, with pipes, all welded, installed, for $250. For that money, I ain't laying on the ground struggling to get everything to hang right.
