Dynomax VT Muffler

Postby StarsnBars [OP] » Mar 27 2011, 2:38pm

Hey all , been thinking its about time to hear that V8 purr. I think this is the longest I've gone on a truck without modding the exhaust. Its been kinda nice,, quiet, for once. Ahh, enough of that nonsense. :D Been looking at this gizzmo ,, http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts/dynom ... 23667.aspx Probably going to end up with the 50 series but this looks interesting. Anyone tried this muffler ? Kinda leary about it. Nice and quiet, then sounds like a bomber stock car. Plus moving parts in a muffler,,, hummmm,, Any thoughts or experence with this muffler would be welcome. :)

I like the concept, but I am with Ryan...more moving parts? Not sure I would trust that. Hopefully we get someone to reply that has had experience with it. The "drone" is why I plan on staying stock, but would consider this if it got really high reviews.

There was a company called Power Effects that had a
tuneable muffler several years ago. I had one of their
systems on a "95 Z71 and it was the best sounding best enginered
exhaust I've ever seen.
Not sure if they are still around or not. At the time you
could just buy the muffler from them.

I saw the VT a few months ago and think it is a pretty cool idea, but agree with everyone else about the moving parts. With the hot/cold cycling and moisture in the exhaust I could see it locking up.
