Exhaust Database

Postby koolz71 [OP] » Jan 17 2011, 2:39pm

Due to an increase in the "what exhaust should i get?" threads. I did a lil work around youtube. I tried to get a nice variety to help people decide. I will always be updating this. If you know of a setup i dont have or motor combination i dont have PM me and i will add it to the database. This will be updated as much as i can keep it

That last video (Flowmaster 40 series on the 6.0) sounds very much like mine, even though I've got the 50 series Big Block. Doesn't she sound great, though?

Silverbullet, there are many different options for Flowmasters. 40's, 44's and their race mufflers will obviously have a good amount of drone. Mufflers like the 50's and larger remove the drone the bigger they get. I had dual 50's on my 03 SS Silverado and after it warmed up through the cold start programing it wasn't bad at all. I wasn't until I moved from Burnswick, ME, to Jacksonville, FL, in 2004 that I almost got tired of the mild drone at 70-80 but then I would just rev it in neutral and wouldn't care anymore. How much drone you will take compared to anyone else is a personal opinion, if I didn't have a 3 year old son, I would be looking at 18" or smaller Magnaflows instead of their 5x11x22" mufflerr. I would recommend talking to people local to you if you like their exhaust and get their opinions and possible a ride. Most car guys like to talk about their vehicles.

Re: Exhaust Database

I stuck this in a response to a poster but I thought it would be a good addition to the exhaust database. Rather than use the ratings as absolutes, think of them in relative terms. I'm a fan of the DynoMax Turbo series; I knew they had pretty good flow ratings but never thought they'd pass gas better than most of FlowMaster series.
