The heat sheild on the muffler creaks and pops when hot.......after engine shut off its really loud.
Dealer says it normal.
2010gmc 1500 flex fuel v8 stock.

Completely normal. It is metal expanding and contracting with temperature differentiation.

Yup. You've never heard it doing this with any othe car? I've always noticed that. Got that tink, tink, tink crack sound..

My firebird has a after market exhaust on it and it does the same thing. I thought the same thing when I first heard it but like everyone said its normal. Can't wait to put duals on the truck

Funny, I don't remember mine popping and cracking all that much. I may be deaf in that frequency range.

My '03 Avalanche did it, and my 2010 REALLY does it. It's even worse when it's wet (I suppose because it's cooling faster). I can here it in the house.
