I just swapped the stock muffler with the super 40, stock pipes. To be honest, it doesn't sound that aggressive. This video is a cold start, and i didn't rev it up past 3k rpm. Regular driving i can barely hear it, but mostly i can when accelerating from stops, etc. My gf was in her vehicle behind me and couldn't hear me till i dropped it in neutral and revved the engine hard.
But it was a cheap upgrade, $150 parts/labor and its better than stock at least.
i have a 40 series..its pretty loud..it drones alot in the cab and can drive me batty lol..did you buy the muffler yourself? becuase i have heard stories of muffler shops selling flowmasters and actually installing knockoffs? not sure though
Piping and exhaust tips have effect on the sound also and your running stock pipe also I have a magnaflow on my 454 vortec suburban and it has the stock exhaust on it with just a muffler but it sounds good but if I added dual exhaust and tips it would be louder with tips it give the exhaust sound waves room to expand and in result gives you a deep rich tone compaired without them
Thanks for the advice. Yup i bought the muffler online and had the shop install it. Ill just keep this i guess for now and decide what to do later. I wish i had bought a single in dual out.
I may go with a y pipe with straights, just not sure atm.
