Flowmaster Bracket Problem

Postby MorpheusHusky [OP] » Feb 20 2012, 10:48pm

Ive had my cat-back dual super 40s on my truck for less then a month and the brackets keep coming apart. It makes my exhaust bounce around cause it has no support. This is one of my biggest pet peeves cause I think it makes trucks look like crap when the exhaust does that. I have a feeling it is due to the extremely crappy raods around here and all the vibrations. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and what you have done to fix it. Attached a pic to show exactly what is coming loose. Thanks in advance for the help!

Is that the only bracket that is trying to come loose ? if it is then probably more towards the back then i would think that the pipe or muffler isn't aligned right an causing it to come loose . Besides u can always add a different type of Hanger

So it keeps coming out of the rubber hanger? If the metal hangers are pulling through, you should get a new rubber hanger.

If you can get it back through the hanger far enough, all you need to do is bend the end of the rod down a little and that should prevent it from coming back out. You can take a wrench with the box end over the rod and bend it that way.

also bending those can sometimes be very tricky. not trying to sound hackish here but if you take electrical tape and build up enoguh of a lip so it cant slide off it will also stop it from coming off and electrical is easly removable if you ever have to remve the exhaust in the future
