GMPP Exhaust

GMPP Exhaust

Postby SouthernSilverado50 [OP] » Jan 10 2012, 7:26am

I have the 2008 5.3,

I picked up the GMPP Stainlessless Exhaust for 300 dollars.
According to what i've seen its valued about 1100 dollars.

He had it put on for about 300 miles and said it was to loud.
I have had it on for about 1000 now and dont think its all that loud.

I actually wanted something more throaty.
Should I try to flip the exhaust for something mor aftermarket like dual flowmaster. OR be content with what I got.
Live in a college town so probably wouldnt be that hard selling it, right?

Need opinions, WHat would yall do?

i would probably keep it since i wouldn't want something extremely loud and especially if i got a great deal on it but in the end, it's your truck.
if you are wanting something different and you are able to sell the cat-back for more than what you bought it for, got for it.
what have you got to lose?

I've been looking for a GMPP catback for a while now. If you decide to get rid of it, I'd probably take it off your hands

Chains,
What would be a reasonable price for you to consider taking it off my hands?

That depends...it is the touring version right? Does it have the stainless tip as well?

Hi!
I purchased a new GMPP exhaust and had it installed at the dealer about 6 months ago. In my opinion its too loud, so I am looking to trade it for the touring version - which it sounds like you have?

I have a 2008 5.3L. The exhaust is duals straight out the back with the polished tips. It sounds awesome to me (and all my buddies), but its a little too much for my wife and 2 small kids (2yr old and 4 month old).

Let me know if you are interested.

Its the preformance series cat back. Stainless steel. Two rolled tips coming right out the back.

My whole thing is I prefer the thoraty popping sound of no mufflers. To me the preformance series is more of a smooth crisp clean sound with that low growl. I want the popping sound I had in my old truck. Or would even settle for a set of true dual flowmasters. I just want louder. I want to be obnoxious riding through town

GMPP Exhaust

Postby Medevacplt » Feb 08 2012, 9:46pm

The thing most people don't think about until it's too late is the interior drone. On short trips it's no bigee but on a long trip it can cause a migraine. My muffler guy installed one with an x pipi that he said was really quiet inside but still nice outside. He is getting me the info
But that 6.0 is nice even with stock when you get down on it.
